When you crave for Yong Tau Foo, there’s only one place to turn to in Melbourne. The Grand BBQ is home to the authentic Chinese cuisine.

What is Yong Tau Foo?

Yong Tau Foo is a Hakka Chinese food that mainly consist of tofu that are sometimes filled with ground meat or fish paste. Growing up in Singapore and Chinese culture, it’s only natural that I crave for it from time to time.

It’s not easy finding a place that serves delicious, affordable and convenient Yong Tau Foo in Melbourne so I’m really thankful for The Grand BBQ!

Authentic & Wallet Friendly

Well, you can’t expect the best service from the restaurant for the price you are paying. But since it’s probably the best Yong Tau Foo in town, all’s good. There aren’t many places that serve Yong Tau Foo as authentic as The Grand BBQ to begin with, so they are pretty much monopolizing the market.

With a choice of Chicken, Curry or Tom Yum soup, and a variety of noodles to choose from, Yong Tau Foo served here reminds me of the ones I had in Singapore. With the variety of choice, you can create a noodle soup according to your preferences. You can even have your own version of Singapore Laksa – it’s all up to your imagination! I like to go with the dumplings as they are extremely delicious!

As for the setting of the restaurant, it isn’t as cosy as you’d like to. Finding a seat during peak hours would be a challenge too. And remember to have cash with you as they don’t accept payment with card. The taste of their affordable bowl of noodles will make up for it though. So again, all’s good.
