I’ve heard heaps good stuff about the lovely diner, but me being me – I had to see and try it for myself before believing those words. Well, my satisfied belly is happy to conclude that The Grand Trailer Park Taverna lives up to its reputation.

Let’s begin with their lovely diner ambience. The Grand Trailer Park Taverna offers good vibe with cozy and retro setting – promising a good time from the moment you stepped in. Pretty lights, caravan seats, vintage decor with a wide range and wallet-friendly menu options as well as friendly and helpful wait staff? Why haven’t I discovered this place any sooner?

Cosy and pretty space at The Grand Trailer Park Diner, which serves one of the best burgers in Melbourne CBDOur guide to finding Melbourne's best burgers and nutella milkshake in the city.

Big Portions & Low Budget Burgers

Their burgers are amazing and portion is huge, there’s no way you won’t be satisfied. I’d recommend sticking with the basic KSA burger ($13.50) though because ordering the Francis Underwood ($16), which comes with the much raved Mac and Cheese Croquette left me with nothing but regret.

Though I love everything fried, the fried Mac and Cheese is too greasy and heavy for my preference. In my opinion, the croquette is too overpowering, it is a pity that I couldn’t fully appreciate the deliciously prepared beef patty. If you want to give it a try, I’d suggest to have it shared or else it’ll be an unnecessary addition to the yummy burger. I enjoyed the patty most. It was juicy and it goes well with the crispy toasted brioche bun.

Delicious Spiked Milkshakes

As for the milkshakes, there are options of spiked and unspiked. My friends and I ordered both versions just to see the difference, which turned out to be very subtle. The spiked/alcoholic Kinder, Frangelico, Baileys and Nutella Milkshake ($21.00) wasn’t as impressive as we expected. Could barely taste the alcohol. The other milkshakes including Maple Bacon and Salted Caramel ($17.00) was too sweet for my preference and isn’t as unique as we imagined. Not worth it.

Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience in The Grand Trailer Park Taverna and would definitely come back to try our their gorgeous-looking Giant Waffle Stack ($38.00) in the future!
